Switches and sockets are important electrical accessories that must be contacted by household appliances. Because they are commonplace, they are often easily overlooked by people. Fire experts advise that proper use of switch sockets cannot be ignored, otherwise, fires may be caused by paralysis. In general, there are seven major hidden dangers that cause switch sockets to fire:

The first is that the socket is pressed by flammable materials or dust falls into it to cause a short circuit, or it is installed in a flammable and explosive dangerous place. When a plug is inserted or removed, a spark is generated to cause explosion and fire.

The second is that the plug is not replaced in time, and the bare wire is used instead of the plug to cause a short circuit or spark, causing the combustible to catch fire.

The third is that some bedside switches are put in place immediately after use. The switch hits the bed frame or the wall and breaks the outer insulation layer, which may cause short circuit.

Fourth, the operating voltage and operating current of household appliances are inconsistent with the power of the outlets used. Long-term overloading may cause fires if the temperature is too high.

Fifth, the improper installation of the switch, in particular, the switch placed on a combustible object, once the conductor lead to the jacket was scratched, will make the core exposed or water vapor infiltration, resulting in a short circuit, or arc generated when the switch is off causing a fire;

Sixth, the distribution board is not placed in the junction box. When the fuse is blown, there will be hot metal particles splashing down, which will cause burning under the combustibles.

Seventh, combustible gas used by households is leaked due to pipes or valves. When combustible gas is mixed with air and reaches a certain limit, electric switches that do not eliminate electric arc devices are opened and closed, and sparks are generated.
