The shipbuilding industry has long maintained a strong connection with the hardware sector. The massive scale of the shipbuilding market not only drives demand for hardware tools but also significantly contributes to the growth of the hardware industry. Although China has become the world's largest shipbuilder, its domestic ship equipment localization rate remains below 50%, compared to over 90% in developed countries. Luo Baihui, General Secretary of the International Mould, Hardware and Plastics Industry Suppliers Association, pointed out that this gap presents a significant opportunity for improvement. According to the "11th Five-Year Plan Outline for the Development of Ship Supporting Industry" and the "Planning for the Adjustment and Revitalization of Shipbuilding Industry," the goal is to reach an 80% or higher domestic content in marine equipment by 2015. This indicates a promising future for China’s shipbuilding industry. Shipbuilding equipment typically accounts for 30-40% of a vessel’s total cost. In 2009, the total output value of large-scale shipbuilding reached RMB 548.4 billion. If we assume that 35% of that was spent on supporting equipment, the potential value for the hardware industry would be around RMB 191.94 billion. However, actual output from the shipbuilding industry was only RMB 62 billion, highlighting a major gap and suggesting substantial room for growth. For the China Hardware Brand Alliance, the opportunities are equally vast. Building a bridge between hardware brands and the shipbuilding industry has become a key objective. The alliance aims to strengthen collaboration and create more efficient supply chains. The range of tools required in the shipbuilding industry is extensive, and it cannot be fully covered by a few publications or product showcases. Shipbuilders often look for complete series of products, which means the number of items involved can be very large. In the digital age, e-commerce platforms are becoming essential tools for business transactions. Industry organizations can play a crucial role by leveraging these platforms. By integrating resources and using databases, they can promote high-concentration products to the shipbuilding industry, enabling one-stop shopping for tool procurement. This approach not only improves efficiency but also strengthens the relationship between hardware suppliers and shipbuilders.

Electric Planer

An electric planer is a power tool with a rotating blade drum; it is designed for the chip-re-moving treatment of mainly wood or plastic surfaces. The electric planer is similar in design, handing and performance to the conventional and generally well knows manual planer. The high rotational speed of the universal motor is transmitted to the blade drum by an elastic belt drive.
