An emergency rescue plan is a comprehensive strategy designed to address potential hazards and dangers that could occur in a specific environment. It takes into account the existing resources, personnel, and risk factors to ensure that emergency response actions are timely, effective, and well-coordinated.

To enhance school safety and improve fire awareness, the school organized an event titled “Fire Safety Education, Firefighting Exercises, and Evacuation Drills” on the afternoon of November 22, 2010. This initiative aimed to educate students and staff on fire prevention, firefighting techniques, and safe evacuation procedures.

The primary goal of the exercise was to equip teachers and students with essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively during emergencies. By practicing these procedures, participants were able to learn how to evacuate safely, reduce injuries, and develop a calm and quick mindset in the face of disasters.

All school staff, teachers, and students participated in the drills. The event involved detailed roles and responsibilities assigned to different teams, including the general commander, life care workers, security guards, class leaders, and teachers in charge of classrooms and dormitories.

During the activity, a police officer named Zhao Delin delivered a lecture on fire safety, conducted a live fire extinguishing demonstration, and led the evacuation drill. The school also emphasized preparation and clear instructions before the event to ensure everyone understood the process and importance of the exercise.

Evacuation steps included moving quickly but calmly down the stairs, avoiding panic, not pushing or running, and covering mouths and noses with wet cloths to prevent inhaling smoke. After reaching the designated meeting point, class leaders counted students, checked for injuries, and reported back to the command center.

If trapped, using curtains or fabrics as ropes can help escape from lower floors. In case of burns, rolling on the ground to put out flames is crucial.

The emergency evacuation plan focused on raising awareness about fire safety, teaching self-rescue methods, and ensuring that students could act calmly and efficiently during real emergencies. Through training and drills, the school aimed to improve its overall emergency preparedness and student resilience.
