Pearl River Delta site safety net multiple inferior products

It has long been an open secret in the construction industry that substandard safety nets are widely used on job sites. Recently, a worker at a large-scale building project in Zhongshan City came forward with shocking revelations. According to the worker, the construction site was using unqualified safety nets, and the site supervisor was fully aware of the poor quality of the product. This alarming situation has raised serious concerns about worker safety and corporate responsibility.

Following the report, the journalist conducted an in-depth investigation across several cities, including Guangzhou's Zengcheng District, Foshan, Jiangmen, and Zhongshan. The findings were equally disturbing: due to a mere 10% difference in flame resistance between standard and inferior safety nets, many construction sites opted for the cheaper, lower-quality alternatives. The source of these substandard products traced back to a company known as Du Fu Hongchang Plastic Net Factory in Jiangmen. During an unscheduled visit, the factory representatives admitted that using inferior safety nets is a well-known practice within the industry, despite the risks it poses.

When tested, these low-quality safety nets can be easily torn apart or burned through with minimal force. A recent incident involving a large construction site in Zhongshan further highlighted the issue. A staff member revealed that the site manager knew the safety nets were subpar but continued to use them to cut costs. Additionally, it was disclosed that over 90% of safety nets used in the Pearl River Delta region are not up to national standards, with only 10% being truly compliant. As one insider put it, "National standards are only used during inspections; actual construction sites rarely use certified products."
